Legends Cricket League: Gujarat Giants draft Chris Gayle

All four franchises in the league i.e. Gujarat Giants, India Capitals, Manipal Tigers and Bhilwara Kings picked 79 crickets in the initial draft in their pocket 8 crore.

Per league rules, each franchisee has an extra three days to perfect their roster, including sketching out any other legends in their pre-existing franchise wallet.

The Gujarat giant was left with 2,48,20,000 after spending 5,51,80,000 to buy 15 legends on Friday.

Raman Raheja, CEO and Co-Founder said, “Following Friday’s draft, the Gujarat Giants have clearly expressed their desire to buy Chris Gayle with the remaining funds from the INR 8 Cr franchise wallet. We have facilitated the discussion and are delighted that Gayle will be able to see him play for the Adani Sportsline team,” reported ANI news agency.

Chris Gayle, ‘Cosmic Boss’, will be an important asset to the Giants with his power game possessing the ability to thwart any opposition.

Gayle will join former West Indies teammate Lendl Simmons, former Indian Wicket hitter Parthiv Patel, Sri Lankan mystery cameraman Ajantha Mendis, former New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori and the all-around athlete. New Zealand’s Mitchell McClenaghan.

Gujarat Giants: Virender Sehwag (Captain), Parthiv Patel, Chris Gayle, Elton Chigumbura, Chris Tremlett, Richard Levi, Graeme Swann, Joginder Sharma, Ashoke Dinda, Daniel Vettori, Kevin O’brien, Stuart Binny, Mitchell McClenaghan, Lendl Simmonshell Manvinder Bisla and Ajantha Mendis.

League of Legends Cricket will be a four-team and one-match tournament of 16 matches. The tournament will kick off on September 17 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata and will be held in five different cities, including Lucknow, New Delhi, Cuttack & Jodhpur. The final match of the tournament will take place on October 8.
