Joe Goosen says Ryan Garcia is aiming for ‘superstar’

Via Jim Calfa: Coach Joe Goosen believes Ryan Garcia is on his way to superstardom if he can continue to win the way he is.

Goosen recently took over as coach for Ryan (21-0, 18 KOs) following a 23-year-old split from his former celebrity trainer Eddy Reynoso.

Not long before Ryan left the Reynoso gym, gym companion Canelo Alvarez stoned him in an interview, saying he lacked dedication.

Ryan has been dealing with an injury and a brief anxiety problem, which has hampered his training.

After learning about Canelo’s criticism of him, Ryan said he felt betrayed by the Mexican star because it’s something he would never do if that shoe was on the other foot. He felt Canelo stab him in the back.

“Look, Ryan has a lot of talent. But in my eyes, he is wasting a lot of time and wasting his talent. I looked at him and didn’t find him 100% dedicated. and, for us, that’s a bad sign,” Canelo Alvarez told Complex about Ryan’s lack of commitment.

It’s no surprise that Ryan decided to leave Reynoso’s gym after learning what Canelo said, making the environment toxic.

Goosen doesn’t see Ryan as lacking in dedication in the short time he’s worked with him, and he feels he’s an exceptionally gifted and hard worker.

Ryan and Goosen will be working together for the first time next month when King Ry takes over Emmanuel Tagoe (32-1, 15 KOs) in the 12th round title match on DAZN at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

This will be Ryan’s first game since his game against Luke Campbell in January 2021. It’s important that Ryan not only wins against 33-year-old Tagoe, but looks good doing it.

The knockout would be the ideal way for Ryan to win the fight, as well as show the boxing world that he’s back and ready to challenge the winner to a match between George Kambosos Jr. and Devin Haney on June 5.

“The kid can fight like crazy. For me, if you build a fighterhe really has stock‘ Joe Goosen said to Against TV Hub on Ryan Garcia. “It is like ‘It factors.’ It’s hard to describe, but you’ll know it when you see it.

“He has ‘Factor it’ inside and outside of the ring. It’s a great combination. He was brilliant in front of the camera.

“He looks great, he sounds great, he speaks clearly. Goosen said the things that will help you win, are things related to currency outside the ring.

You can imagine Goosen’s happiness right now because if he can make some small improvements in Ryan’s game he can make him a big star and he will enjoy trip.

The amount of money Ryan can make is huge if he can beat the winner Kambosos vs. Haney and later defeats Gervonta ‘The Tank’ Davis. Ryan can’t withdraw from the fight if he can set up fights with these fighters because he can’t afford to be branded as unreliable.

If Ryan wins those matches, he could be a superstar in the first half of 2023, and you can only imagine the fortune he can amass in a short time.

“Inside the ring, he has a great style and has a lot of fans on the Internet,” Goosen continued of Ryan. “All that adds up if he keeps winning, Super star. I think he understands met. I’m really happy to be here, to tell you the truth.

“No coach wants to turn down a job like this. What makes me better is that I know Ryan, and we’re closer now that he’s a little bit older. He has a high IQ in and out of the ring.
