Inoue vs Butler? WBO Champion Laughs At Naoya Inoue’s ‘Death Wish’

PAUL BUTLER IS NOT BECAUSED BY NAOYA INOUE POWER AND RUBBISHES ‘DEAD ATTENTION’ REQUIREMENTS

Paul Butler is not afraid of the might of the most feared boxer in the world, Naoya Inoue, and has laughed when he talks about him having a ‘wish to die’.

Inoue defeated Nonito Donaire two brutal rounds in Tokyo on Tuesday (June 7), and immediately called for a fight with Butler for the undisputed bantamweight world title.

Butler became WBO owner last month after winning the interim belt with a high-profile performance against Jonas Sultan at the Liverpool Probellum and has told Inoue’s representatives he wants to fight their man. .

Japanese hero Inoue holds the WBC, WBA and IBF belts but before moving to super bantamweight, he wants to fight Butler, who holds the “missing piece”.

“I’ve read all kinds of comments and predictions about the fight, then: ‘Butler has a wish to die’, ‘Inoue to win by killing people’ and agreeing to join the fight would be like ‘Sign someone’s death warrant'” Butler told Probellum.com

“He hit really hard but what is the worst that could happen? He beat me out. I’ve been blocked before and let me be clear, I’m going into that fight believing I can win. I will enter the ring believing, as I always have, that I can win the match and become the undisputed bantamweight champion of the world. ”

One of boxing’s top boxers, Inoue is a star attraction in Japan and Butler has no problem facing the ‘Monster’ in his backyard.

“I want the war in Japan, I would be silly not to,” he said.

“If the fight can be done here, fine, but if I get more money to fight in Japan, that’s what I will do.

“Hopefully contact can continue between both teams. Before the fight with Donaire, Inoue’s team gave their impressions, asking if I would join the fight and if so, where do I want it? I told them I wanted it and I wanted it in Japan. Hopefully we can get this big of a fight.”

Butler has yet to return to the gym with trainer Joe Gallagher but has begun prepping his body for a grueling return to training camp to prep Inoue.

Butler added: “From now on, I will need at least 12 weeks.

“I haven’t been back to the gym since the battle with the Sultan, but I might be ready by early October.

“I was very nervous going into the Inoue vs Donaire fight because I hoped Inoue would win because I knew how big a fight with him would be.

“I started itching in my knuckles during training and did my first punch, since winning the world championship, on Monday night. I will continue to do a session or two a day until we get the green light and all systems are up and running. ”
