Injured Pakistani driver Haris Rauf leaves England team Test series | Cricket News

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan fast archer Haris Rauf was eliminated from the rest of the Test Against series England with a thigh injury, the team’s management said Tuesday.
The 29-year-old, who made his debut in the Opening Test in Rawalpindi, stepped on the ball while hitting the ball on the first day.
“A Type II in the right quad has ruled Rauf out of the series of tests against England,” Pakistani Cricket Board said in a statement.
Subsequent scans and evaluations concluded Rauf needed time off for rehabilitation, it added.
Rauf went bowling 13 times at 1-78 in England’s first inning, but couldn’t be beaten in the second. He fought with discomfort in both halves.
He won the First Test with 74 runs on Monday to lead 1-0 in a three-game series.
Pakistan has yet to name Rauf’s replacement, but has a team of 17 to choose from for the Second Test which begins in Multan on Friday.
Rauf’s absence is an even bigger blow to a Pakistani team that already lacks fast forward pitchers. Shaheen Shah Afridi through a knee injury.
