An icon of Los Angeles, Angelyne was a mystery model in the 1980s who started appearing on billboards featuring nothing but Angelyne. She became a legend and a local celebrity, cruising around the city in her hot pink Corvette. Now, she is getting miniseries treatment.
inside first intro because the Angelyne, premieres Tuesday, Emmy Rossum donned a sky-high Dolly-Parton-esque wig to play the blonde bombshell. Her rich fake look spilled out of her low-cut rubber dress. It’s a hairstyle and makeup transformation reminiscent of Lily James’ unrecognizable turn as Pamela Anderson in Hulu’s Pam & Tommy.

It’s the story of Los Angeles and everything the city means to those who move here and to those who dream about moving here. ”
As for Rossum herself, this is how she recently described it Angelyne aesthetic: “She’s like Marilyn Monroe stepping into the easy oven with ’80s punk Barbie Dolls and a dose of new age spirituality.”
Angelyne herself is the executive producer of the project, along with The end of the world F***ingby Lucy Tcherniak. Tchneriak will direct all episodes.
Besides Rossum, Angelyne The cast includes Alex Karpovsky, Martin Freeman, Lukas Gage, Michael Angarano, Hamish Linklater, Molly Ephraim, Philip Ettinger, Charlie Rowe and David Krumholz.
The series premiered on Peacock on May 19.
