HTC’s mixed reality headset has been in the news for quite some time now. The upcoming device will compete with models from the Oculus Rift and Quest products from Meta.
One report by The Verge, quoting Shen Ye, by HTC global product manager, says that the company plans to launch new flagship all-in-one AR and VR headsets at CES on January 5. The headset will have a new design. “It’s about taking all the advancements we’ve made not only in terms of design but also in terms of technology, and building it into something meaningful and engaging for consumers. use,” the report quoted Ye as saying.
The report also includes an image of the headset that shows off the goggles-like design. It appears to have front and side cameras that enable mixed reality. Ye says the headset can be used for gaming, entertainment, exercise, and “even some more powerful use cases,” including business and productivity tools. It is said to offer two hours of battery life and supports a controller with six degrees of freedom with hand tracking.
