Hennessey upgrades Ford F-150 Raptor R 2023 to 1,000 horsepower
New Ford F-150 Raptor R 2023 offers plenty of performance right out of the box but Hennessey Performance Engineering plans to take things to the next level.
Tuning firm Texan on Tuesday announced a new VelociRaptoR 1000 upgrade that will boost output to 1,000 horsepower and supercar-worthy 850 lb-ft of torque. Final numbers will be announced closer to launch in early 2023.
Hennessey had extensive experience with the turbocharged 5.2-liter V-8 found under the hood of the F-150 Raptor R. The original V-8, with its flat crankshaft and 2.65 supercharger liter, providing 700 hp and 640 hp. lb-ft, but Hennessey built 1,200-plus-hp versions in upgrades to the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, which featured the same V-8 engine.
2023 Hennessey VelociRaptoR 1000
For the VelociRaptoR 1000, Hennessey will add a larger 3.8-liter supercharger, new supercharger belts and an upgraded fuel system.
There will also be modifications in other areas of the vehicle, similar to those found on Hennessey’s Other VelociRaptor Upgrades. These will include new front and rear fascias, front light bars, a graphics package, and 20-inch wheels wrapped in 37-inch all-terrain tyres. The trucks will also come with custom badges, including a serial numbered construction plate. Hennessey has not said how many examples there will be.
Interested buyers can order the VelociRaptoR 1000 through Hennessey or participating Ford dealers. Pricing information has not been announced. The standard F-150 Raptor R starts at $109,145, including a $1,795 destination fee.
