Harry Styles Has a New Album—and Even More Wild Style
Today, musicians releasing new music not only do so by releasing a new album, but also participating in a new era, something defined by the clothing, colors, and ephemeris deployed in the marketing rollout. Specifically, with style, an artist’s outfit can speak to the state of mind they’re in when making music — and so can the listener while listening to it.
And while Harry Styles has long embraced a sort of neoclassical glam-rock style, the release Harry’s House, the album is due out tomorrow, bringing with it a similar yet different twist to his deeply confident personal style. The release of his last album, Good line, coincident with a bunch of stupid designers. And while, for this debut, he’s still wearing playful outfits that match the old and new trends in gender-neutral dressing, he’s also changed things up a bit. So far, that means a lot of zany jumpsuits.
Performing on The Today Show in New York City this morning, Styles donned a custom bell-sleeve jumpsuit by JW Anderson — a tunic a short one shoulder dress from the designer’s 2022 resort collection, no Not like a pack of Fruit Stripe gum with a zebra-shaped front. The look goes well with most of the custom women’s suits he’s worn throughout the album’s rollout so far, like the one by longtime stylist Harry Lambert. Before his outdoor performance in the rain, TodayHoda Kotb asked Styles about this particular outfit, and the singer said they wanted to get dressed. “Well, it’s early so I want to get comfortable… I think, sleeping bag, baby,” Styles said, using Britishism for an infant. “I go for comfort and I think I can soak in the rain with this one.”
