Hardik Pandya leads India in Ireland; Samson is back!

Indian Premier League champions Hardik Pandya has deservedly been named captain of the Indian team in the two-match T20 International series against Ireland in Dublin on June 26 and 28.

The only new face on the side is right winger Maharashtra Rahul Tripathi, who was rewarded for his stellar batting in this IPL release where he scored over 400 runs for the Sunrisers Hyderabad .

Pandyacurrently the deputy of Rishabh Pant T20I series against South Africa, has been elevated to the leadership role and will join the Test team in England upon the conclusion of the series at home.

Sanju Samson, whose malice has been documented for years, received another pay-off, when he returned to the series, having guided the Rajasthan Royals to the IPL finals.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been appointed as the vice-captain for the series.

The designated keeper will be Dinesh Karthik, 36, if named in the squad, while both Ishan Kishan and Samson can keep a player if needed.

Samson’s possession of the ball is not considered maximal, so he could very well be the third keeper of the game.
