Giovonnie Samuels Steps Into the Shade Room & Talks About Lessons Learned Earlier in Her Career, Working With Past Co-Stars & Upcoming Projects

#WhereTheyAtNow: Now you will know back to the days when television used to choke us with classic shows like “All That,” “That So Raven,” “Suite Life of Zack & Cody,” and more. again. An actress who has appeared in all of those shows is Giovonnie Samuels. She quickly became a staple of our childhood as her star continued to rise.

As her career flourished, she landed roles in films like “Bring It On: All or Nothing”, and even the 2007 box office hit “Freedom Writers”.

Years later, Givonnie is still in the game, and in addition to filling her current acting role, she’s also helping to shape the next generation of young actors through her acting studios. She stepped into The Shade Room to chat with us about some of the lessons she learned earlier in her career, working with some of her former co-stars, the changes that have taken place in the industry, and more and more.

When asked what important lesson she learned about the industry earlier in her career, she said,

“True to your uniqueness. When I first started this career, there was no such thing as natural beauty, I used to realize that it was unheard of for a black girl to have full lips, full hips and natural hair. Especially on such a big platform, now it’s everywhere, I’m so thankful and glad I’ve been the representative of that consciousness and opened the door to so many beautiful girls . ”

Giovonnie also shared that she still has a good relationship with many of her former co-stars. When asked to name someone she’d like to work with again, she named her “Bring It In: All or Nothing,” co-stars Solange and Francia Raisa. She also shared that she still works closely with actor Gary L. Grey.

When it comes to upcoming projects, she tells us that she has a book coming out and a few that she can’t name, but she shares that she’ll be visiting soon. some cousins. “That’s So Raven” fans know that Giovonnie starred in the “Country Cousins” episodes in season 3 back in 2005, so that could be an important clue.
