You’ll soon get a chance to play EA’s much-anticipated Skate sequel, but not in the way you’d expect. Developer Full Circle and publisher Electronic Arts are looking for players who want to try the game and provide feedback on the game’s development. You can sign up for this “insider” program here. As EA notes, you cannot share videos or screenshots from your play sessions.
If you’re curious what Skate looks like right now or what you can expect from the gameplay, EA released a trailer with the aptly titled “Still Working on It.” The first few clips focused on synopsis, which had to be recorded early in development due to how raw the animations were. As the trailer continues, the smooth animations and skating realism of the series returns and is shown in some amazing scenes. Full Circle also seems to be upping the scale of the challenges through some wild clips featuring unbeatable opportunities and massive ramps. Most of these clips lack any kind of texture or lighting and really show us how the game is made.
Regardless of where it is in development, this trailer offers an interesting look at a series that should have never left us. Skate is back and it looks like it will be a blast.
