Frenkie de Jong to Manchester United
A new insight into the ongoing transfer saga surrounding Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong was offered on Sunday night.
And this news is sure to be a source of concern for all involved with Manchester United.
The name of Dutch international De Jong, of course, took center stage in headlines across European media again just over a week ago.
For several months now, many have speculated that the midfielder is getting closer to a move to the Premier League with Manchester United, set to reunite with former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag.
In turn, it was no shock when Barcelona president Joan Laporta revealed that he and the transfer team at Camp Nou ‘have no intention of selling him’.
Not only that, it was reiterated that FdJ himself ‘wants to stay’, with the club therefore ready to do whatever it takes to retain a player who is clearly seen as key to the project. by Xavi Hernandez in the future.

However, the British press continues to suggest that De Jong will eventually go on to move to Old Trafford before the summer is over, with Barca’s need for fresh money remaining unchanged.
However, on Sunday, further claims to the contrary appeared online.
According to SPORT1 transfer journalist Patrick Berger, De Jong has returned to Catalunya, before linking up with Xavi’s squad for pre-season training this week.
In contrast, an imminent transfer looks increasingly ‘unlikely’, although the 25-year-old has been disappointed by the treatment Barcelona have given him this summer.
De Jong remains adamant that Camp Nou is his home, and is once again assured that he simply ‘doesn’t want’ to join Manchester United.
