Forspoken delayed to January – Game Informer
Forspoken, Square Enix’s upcoming action RPG, will no longer launch in October and has been pushed to January 24.
In a post on the game’s Twitter page, developer Luminous Productions, a team of Final Fantasy XV developers, said that Forspoken is largely complete and is in the final stages of completion. It describes the delay as a “strategic decision” and we will learn more about the game in the near future.
We want to thank you for your continued support and patience on this journey. Your excitement for the game inspires us every day, and we can’t wait to share more of Forspoken with you later this summer!
Forspoken is no stranger to delays, as it was originally slated to arrive on May 24 before push to October 11. While this second delay isn’t long it’s disappointing that we won’t get to experience Frey Holland’s adventures this year, but we’re confident the delay will only get the game started. The adventure takes Frey, a modern-day New Yorker, into Athia’s fantasy world, where she gains magical powers and a talking bracelet. She will use her new-found abilities to free Athia from the dictatorship while also finding her way back to her world.
