Fobia – St. Dinfna Hotel is a new survival horror game announced to open this year that invites players to survive in a hotel full of monsters. Its resource management and puzzle-solving evoke nuances of modern Resident Evil in a way that we notice, as does its time travel feature.
The player controls rookie journalist Roberto, who investigates the famously haunted St. Dinfna. The building located in Treze Trilhas, Santa Catarina, Brazil, is the subject of rumored disappearances related to paranormal phenomena, and it’s up to you to get to the bottom of it all. Spoiler: hotels of all kinds are infected by sinister creatures looking to kill you.
Survival requires thoughtful management of resources. Depending on your inventory, it might be better to run and hide than fight whatever monstrosity is hunting you. St. Dinfna is riddled with puzzles and Roberto possesses a mysterious camera that connects him to parallel realities, allowing the player to explore past, present, and future timelines to uncover Break all the secrets of the hotel. The game website also mentions that the player will take control of another main character besides Roberto, with both stories intertwined into a great finale.
Fobia – The Hotel St.’s Multiverse Storytelling. Dinfna adds an extra layer of intrigue to the standard haunted house story, and we’re curious to see how it plays out when it comes later on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
