Chelsea Manager Thomas Tuchel and his Spurs partner Antonio ConteA former Chelsea manager, both were red cards after the final whistle as the mood boiled on a sweltering afternoon in west London.
Centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly marked his home debut in his own style by heading home Chelsea from a corner in the 19th minute and the home side dominated for the first time.

Tuchel was furious that the goal was allowed, believing Kai Havertz was fouled in the build-up and clashing with Conte.
Havertz then passed up a great opportunity to give Chelsea the lead but the hosts regained the lead in the 77th minute when James shot past Hugo Lloris from Raheem Sterling’s cross – a goal that made Tuchel happily ran down the line.
Tottenham, who have started the season in an upbeat style, may not have few complaints if they go away empty-handed but Kane’s late intervention means they have four points from two games, equal to Chelsea.
Tottenham have won just once in their last 38 visits to Stamford Bridge in all competitions.
