Suryakumar said during the press conference before the third and final ODI match against England.
“Coming to IPL, I still remember in the 2018-19 season we used to talk a lot about my game, how I can improve in pressure situations and how I can handle it and progress. So we’ve had a lot of conversations on this game about my game and I really, literally, feel him on the ground. whenever he takes the lead or any move he makes on the field when he takes the lead.
“So I learned a lot from him and I’m really happy that he showed a lot of confidence in me. I still remember in 2020, he won the IPL second leg. I didn’t go through a good patch and he’s someone who chatted with me a lot. I’m really happy with the time. How things are going I really want to, I mean please pay reciprocate that confidence by scoring and winning for the team.”
The three-match ODI series between India and England is leveled 1-1, with the decisive match to be played at Old Trafford, Manchester on Sunday (July 17).
