Elon Musk becomes the most followed Twitter user, surpassing Barack Obama, Justin Bieber


Twitter CEO, Elon Musk, has amassed the most followers on the platform. The 51-year-old tycoon has more than 133 million users, surpassing former US President Barack Obama, who has held this record since 2020.

Since then, the CEO has introduced various changes to Twitter. Latest, the platform will begin removing old verified marks from non-Twitter Blue user accounts from April 1. The move comes as the company is moving towards a model where only people Paid subscriptions and members of new approved organizations have a verified stamp for their accounts.

Twitter accounts are now verified in three colors – Yellow for corporate, gray for government, blue for individuals (celebrity or not). All verified accounts will be manually validated before the check is activated.

The blue verification mark is now a feature of Twitter Blue subscriptions. In India, subscription is available for a monthly fee of $650 on the web and $900 on mobile devices.
