Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot DLC Trailer introduces the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament Arc
On Friday, Dragon Ball Z: KakarotThe next DLC of — Bardock: Alone against fate — drops for the open-world action RPG, and Bandai Namco rolled out a new trailer to celebrate its launch.
The flashy trailer — which focuses on Bardock’s fight against Frieza — is filled with the usual action and drama you’d expect from the DBZ universe. However, that’s not what everyone is talking about. As interesting as the DLC looks, Bandai Namco revealed a bit about Kakarot’s future at the end.
Bardock may be kicking off 2023 for Kakarot, but it looks like we could go back in Dragon Ball (and Goku) history for the next chapter. Just when you thought the trailer was coming to an end, BAM, Bandai Namco impressed us with the silhouette of the character and a big, bold “coming soon” text placed just to the left.
Astute fans were quick to point out that the teaser looks just like a teenager Goku from the original Dragon ball series – specifically the series from The 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament Arc (also called The 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai Part). We’ve got plenty of retellings of the Dragon Ball Z series already, so it will be interesting to see some OG serials make an appearance in the game.
No date or details have been shared and Bandai Namco hasn’t even confirmed anything yet, but that hasn’t stopped eager fans from getting excited.
Bardock: Alone Against Fate is out on January 13. Are you still playing Kakarot on Switch? How do you feel about the potentially returning DLC to the original Dragon Ball series? Let us know!
