Donald Trump denies storming out of Piers Morgan interview, leaks audio to prove it – National
Former US President Donald Trump is denying that he has gone beyond the public interview with Piers Morgan after the British TV presenter dropped a teaser for the segment showing Trump abruptly leaving the room.
Trump’s team claims that the trailer was edited the wrong way to resonate with Morgan’s new show. In the video, Trump appears to have walked out in a fit of rage, ordering the crew to “turn off the camera” after Morgan pressured him with tough questions.
The interview will air on Talk TV, a new subsidiary of Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp., and has been called “the most explosive interview of the year.”
The New York Post, also a subsidiary of News Corp.
Trump spokesman Tayor Budowich said of the trailer: “This is a pathetic attempt to use president Trump as a way to revive the career of a failed TV presenter.”
An audio recording of the interview has been leaked by Trump’s team and it seems to show Morgan and the former president having a nice exchange after the interview. There is no indication that Trump stormed off the set in this recording.
Morgan says, “It was a great interview,” at the end of the recording and Trump agrees, saying “Yes.”
“Thanks so much. I really appreciate it,” Morgan said.
Trump then said, “Turn off the cameras,” but Budowich said the former president had already left his chair at this point.
Trump can also be heard saying “very deceiving” in the trailer, but Budowich says this has to do with the fact that Morgan stretched the interview longer than he originally claimed.
Budowich said that Trump expected the interview to last 20 minutes but it ended up going on for more than an hour. Morgan went on to emphasize that he had only one final question left but kept asking for more.
At one point near the end of the recording, Budowich asked, “Is that the last question? You have now said ‘last question’ four times. So I feel like you’re lying at this point.”
“I don’t lie,” Morgan said, prompting Trump to say, “Very deceiving.”
Morgan sat down with ITV on Thursday morning to repel about the former president’s assertion that the trailer was wrongly edited.
“He said it was a rigged election, and now he’s saying I have a rigged ad. What I mean is: watch the interview. All will be there. We will not make any duplicate edits. “
“The ad reflects exactly what happened. Donald Trump is very angry about one particular thing and he can’t let it go. But when people watch the interview, they will see that we have a very pleasant exchange. We always do the former. But smoldering is this anger he feels about what was told to him before we started the interview,” he said.
The presenter seemed delighted when Trump publicly reacted to the ad. “I told my team, the only way this can get any bigger is if I wake up in the morning to a personal statement from Donald J Trump. (At) 5 am, my phone rings, and there it is! ”
Morgan has presented for ITV’s Good morning England but leave it later refuse to apologize because the His comments on Meghan MarkleDuchess of Sussex.
