Dodge has said goodbye to his V8 muscle cars for a long time, drawn in a way that so far includes six pretty cool limited edition models, very high quality. That sweet farewell was scheduled to end with a secret model Saturday “Last Call” set to debut at this year’s SEMA show, but it was delayed.
Dodge’s seventh and final Last Call muscle car will follow in the footsteps of Shakedown based on challengethe Super Bee based charger and Black Ghost was announced recentlycreated in memory of a 1970s street racer.
The next iteration in the series, which will also be based on Chargers or Challengers, is all set to be revealed at this year. Special Equipment Market Association (SEMA) showing in Las Vegas, Nevada, November 1-4.
However, Dodge has now shared a statement confirming that it has pushed back the reveal of Saturday’s “Last Call” muscle car. According to Dodge:
“The introduction of the 2023 brand’s seventh and final 2023 “Last Call” anniversary edition model has been postponed.
“Once the product and sourcing challenges have been resolved, the disclosure will be rescheduled.”
The company hasn’t alluded to when the final model in the series will break cover, and neither has it given any hint and what “challenges” could be causing the delay. But in recent months the auto industry has been hit with many backlogs, shortages and constraints, so you can take your pick.
Maybe the seemingly chip shortage never ends is having an impact on the features Dodge might include in its final V8 muscle car. Or, perhaps, Rumors of aluminum shortage is hindering its construction?
It can even be a big ruse and Lithium shortage is affecting the EV . sector could instead hinder implementation. Who knows.
While the latter is unlikely, Dodge has laid out his plans for his electric muscle car with the launch of the Charger Daytona concept. Launched last month, the all-electric muscle car is a sign of things to come for the Stellantis-owned brand after the current generation of Charger and Challenger land their last.
LastThat curtain call is set to arrive a little later than expected.
