Disney + Hotstar to stream mixed martial arts competition Matrix Fight Night

NEW DELHI: The mixed martial arts (MMA) televised Matrix Fight Night sports tournament has signed up with Disney+ Hotstar to stream its 10th edition that will take place later this year. It will also stream previous versions of the MMA event starting from MFN 7, to be held in Hyderabad in December 2021, with the eighth and ninth editions taking place in New Delhi this year.

Ayesha Shroff, founder of MFN, said, “We are delighted to be associated with them and look forward to a great and mutually beneficial partnership.”

The event was also supported by Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff.

“Since its inception in 2019, it has held nine shows across India and the UAE. The performances have gained a lot of attention among MMA fans in India, with fighters like Jojo Rajkumari from Manipur and Shyamanand from Bihar becoming a viral sensation overnight,” said Alan Fenandes, Director MMA event executive said.

India’s sports media and sponsorship industry has achieved approx 95 billion in fiscal year 20 but will increase at a slower rate to achieve 150 billion by 2024, according to a report by sports-related employment agency Sporjo and FICCI, the industry has grown at a CAGR of 14% through 2020.

According to, the global mixed martial arts equipment market size will reach approximately USD 1139.8 million in 2021. It is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.5% by 2028.
