Diaz’s Triple Homer Power Overcome Blue Jays

TORONTO – Yandy Diaz had three running points in the second half and the Tampa Bay Rays never looked back in their 11-0 win over the Toronto Blue Jays on Thursday afternoon.

ROBERTO CLEMENTE DAY – Bichette was honored during a pre-match presentation on the pitch as the Blue Jays’ nominee for the Roberto Clemente Award. The award is given to the person who “exercises the best in the game of baseball, sportsmanship, community involvement, and personal contribution to his or her team.”

CAPTAIN KIRK – All-star catcher Alejandro Kirk was dropped from the Blue Jays squad on Thursday when he strained his left hip. Toronto interim coach John Schneider says Kirk could be available from the bench.
