CWG 2022: Cyclist Ronaldo Laitonjam loses to men’s sprint quarterfinals | News about the 2022 Commonwealth Games
BIRMINGHAM: India’s top cyclist Ronaldo Laitonjam lost to Australia Matthew Glaetzer in the previous quarterfinals of the men’s sprint event at The game of commonwealth on Sunday.
The 20-year-old Indian finished 0.162 seconds behind Glaetzer, reaching 10.011 seconds on the 200m.
Laitonjam had previously placed 13th in the qualifying round after hitting the 10,012 mark at Lee Valley Velo Park.
His teammates David Beckham (10,120) and Esow Alben (10,361) finished 18th and 23rd in qualifying.
Laitonjam won a silver medal in the sprint event of the senior category at Asian Athletics Championships in New Delhi in June.
