MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – A Wisconsin engagement photo session is taking social media by storm.
That snap has 11,000 likes and thousands of shares on Facebook.
“We met on Tinder like everyone our age these days,” said Andrew Meier.
Meier and his fiance, Annemarie Ryan, started taking engagement photos, which is pretty common, but they did it with a Wisconsin twist.
“It was family, Green Bay, Kwik Trip and Culvers,” says Meier.
The casual button-down and floral skirt business, for Culvers and Kwik Trip sweaters, showcases their love of what many call a Wisconsin staple.
Meier went on to say that his fiance suggested the sweater shoot.
“She was like let’s do Kwik Trip and Culvers, and I like, what a great idea.
Meier told CBS 58 that he and his fiancé had their first date at Culvers, making it clear what he already knew.
“We went to Culvers, and after I found out she loved Culvers, I knew she was the one,” Meier said.
Nathan Lewis, the man behind the viral photo, said a photo like this is worth a thousand words.
“They can look back and feel the same sensations they had so many years ago but this is just a little more special because it has a Midwestern flavor.”
Lewis is a co-owner of Kenosha-based Nathan and Stephanie Photography.
Meier said he did not expect the explosion of social media, but nevertheless, the future husband, said it was a great story to tell future generations.
“Great Wisconsin love story, people outside east and west don’t know what a Kwik Trip is but that’s fine, we need to keep it here, keep it Wisconsin,” Meier said.
Meier and Ryan will be married in the fall of 2023.
