Your followers’ beliefs in your denomination drive everything in the Lamb Cult. If you don’t keep them fed and happy, or if you turn down their side quests too much, or even simply neglect cleaning up their poop, their trust will drop. Any misdeed, neglect or slight towards them, can cause them to lose trust in you. This will be stressful but don’t worry too much about it. During my 19 hour playtime, my cult’s trust was essentially 0 multiple times, and I usually only lost a follower or two (they would steal 10 coins and go).
When trust first hit zero, I was terrified – I assumed it meant the game was over, or I was going to lose a bunch of my followers, but that’s not the case. what happened. If you’re exhausted or have little faith, just focus on restoring it, and you’ll be fine. Of course, I don’t recommend leaving it there for a while, but your cult should be fine if it needs to be low for a day or two.
