Cristiano Ronaldo has shared an emotional photo of his newborn daughter coming home following the tragic loss of twins.
The soccer star said “now is the time to be grateful for the life” he and partner Georgina Rodriguez have welcomed into the world.
And he said they both feel “all the love” they’ve been given since their son passed away.
The Manchester United forward shared a photo on his Instagram page of their latest addition at home surrounded by his family.
Ronaldo, who has a four-year-old daughter with Ms. Rodriguez, as well as three other children, said: “Dear home. Gio and our baby girl are finally together.
“We want to thank everyone for all the kind words and gestures.”
The footballer described how emotional he was when he was applauded for a minute during Tuesday’s match between Liverpool and Manchester United.
Fans of both teams show solidarity with the players and was applauded at the seventh minute – equal to the number of the Portuguese star.
Some United fans sang Ronaldo’s calling his name and holding up his shirt, while Liverpool supporters sang You’re Never Walk Alone, as their manager Jurgen Klopp clapped.
He said both he and his family will “never forget this precious and heartwarming moment”.
A couple describe the loss of their son is “the biggest pain any parent can feel”.
Following the initial announcement, fans around the world sent messages of condolences and support, including his team.
Manchester United’s Instagram account posted: “Your pain is our pain. Sending love and strength to you and your family at this time.”
