Covid-19: India sees rise in daily infections, active cases drop to 25k


India is once again seeing a daily rise in Covid-19 cases with the country reporting 2,141 cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours, according to Union Health Ministry data updated on Wednesday. Five. The country recorded about 1,500 cases on Tuesday.

According to health ministry data, the nationwide Covid-19 recovery rate has increased to 98.76%. The number of recoveries increased to 4,40,82,064, while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.19%.

The daily positivity rate recorded was 0.85% while the weekly positivity rate was 0.97%, the Ministry of Health said.

According to the ministry, so far, 219.46 doses of Covid vaccine have been used in the country according to the Covid-19 vaccination drive nationwide.

India’s Covid-19 tally passed the 200,000 mark on August 7, 2020, 30,000 on August 23, 400,000 on September 5 and 500,000 on September 16. 600,000 on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, crossed 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20 and crossed the one crore mark on December 19.

India passed the grim milestone of 2 crore on May 4, 3 crore on June 23 last year and 4 crore on January 25 this year.
