Commonwealth Games 2022: Harmanpreet Kaur’s India plays host to England for a place in cricket final

It again happened between India vs England in the last four games. The sides will clash in the first semi-final of the women’s cricket tournament at the 2022 Commonwealth Games on Saturday (August 6).

The fixture is a repeat of the 2018 T20 World Cup semi-final as well as the 2022 T20 World Cup semi-final. India was eliminated at the hands of England in the 2018 event, while India advanced to the final in the tournament. play in 2020 after the semi-final was eliminated.

Coming to the CWG semi-finals, India will have to keep an eye on the red-hot hosts England, who advanced to the knockout stages without losing a single game in their group stage in Birmingham. India got off to a bad start to their Commonwealth campaign, losing a well-controlled match against mighty Australia.

Despite lowering Australia to 49/5 thanks to Renuka Singh’s 4/18 score, India still lost in the plot because Australia wrote a great prison break. India came back in the next two group matches, but were not really challenged by Pakistan and Barbados. However, the games that helped India regain confidence were crushed by Australia at the opening table.

England, on the other hand, had a perfect run in the group stage matches despite being without their regular captain, Heather Knight, who was ruled out of the Commonwealth Games due to a hip injury. In Knight’s absence, Natalie Sciver led England to the finish line at the top of the table. The home team will shoot in the semi-finals as teenage girl Alice Capsey and veteran bowler Katherine Brunt are in great form.
