While Chrysler updated 300 for 2023 it is teasing something that, like this post, is supposed to drop in a week’s time. While the likes of us would turn the tables if it was some kind SRT Pacifica, that is very doubtful. We’re pretty sure it’ll be some kind of Chrysler 300.
Chrysler is being vague about the details, this is not out of the ordinary for something like this. Trailer, on Chrysler’s main websitethere are red brake calipers behind the wheel that can only come from 300. No details are given except Chrysler says it will be “one of the most luxurious and powerful special edition cars in the history of the Chrysler Brand. “I’m praying it’s a new SRT 300.
We know the current LD platform underpinning the 300/Charger and the LY Platform Challenger is on the way. That’s why Dodge are giving us so many wild special edition. But it will be a long time if this is a special SRT 300 as a final hurdle. As I mentioned, over the years, Dodge has been getting all the good stuff in terms of performance.
That wasn’t always the case although Chrysler has offered two generations of the 300 SRT: tfirst brother-second generation 300 SRT-8 and 300 SRT, was discontinued in 2015. Those last 300 SRTs were essentially 300 Scat Packs. You’ve got it if the SRT Charger is too sporty for you. It combines the luxury of a 300 with the performance of a Scat Pack. But it’s strange that they stopped offering it. I mean, who doesn’t want a huge rear-wheel drive American luxury sedan powered by a massive 477hp 6.4-liter V8? It’s a cruise missile. But given how essential Chrysler is to the product, here’s hoping that this is something really special for the brand before it goes into electric vehicles.
