Via Adam Baskin: Chris Eubank Jr vs. Conor Benn will compete in the weight division 157 lbs on October 8 on DAZN PPV at the O2 Arena in London, England.
According to Dan Rafael, there will be a $100,000-per-pound fine for either boxer if they exceed the 157-pound limit for the 12-round middleweight competition.
There is no word yet on whether there will be a rehydration limit as part of the contract. If so, it will be a double for Eubank Jr, as he will not only need to drop 157 pounds to gain weight but will then need to limit how much he can gain back before the extra pounds come on. Morning of Fighting.
Eubank Jr is considered an early winner, but we still don’t know how much of an effect the weight will have on him.

“Benn-Eubank is a rivalry spanning more than 30 years in the sport. As soon as these guys go pro, it’s the dream fight,” Eddie Hearn told Boxing DAZN Shows.
“It was a time when Eubank was at the end of his career, and Benn was at the beginning of his career in terms of big fights. The disadvantage for Conor is that he has to maneuver a few departments.

“The disadvantage for Eubank is that he has to lose a few pounds that he wouldn’t normally have to. I couldn’t stop this fight from happening because of the fire in Conor Benn’s stomach.
“I know people sort of Conor Benn, but I really believe he will win the fight. We know the plan after that is for him to become the world welterweight champion, but this fight, for its size, is too big to say no.
“That was something we had to consider, especially in terms of weight in the match because Conor Benn was very heavy on welterweight night, and Chris Eubank Jr was very light on middleweight night.
“It’s a bigger disadvantage for Conor Benn. That’s something he and Tony Sims had to consider. This is a war that the whole country will be talking about,” Hearn said.
