Via Chris Williams: Errol Spence Jr is trying to stage a showdown between boxer Frank Martin and featherweight superstar Chris Colbert.
Spence, who cheers for an undefeated Martin (16-0, 12 KOs), is trying to fight for him against recently defeated WBA 130-lb 7th place contender Colbert (16-1, 6). KO).
When Spence asked Colbert, 25, on Twitter on Sunday if he wanted to face Martin, saying, “Let’s make it happen.”
Of course, Colbert’s supporters may have something to say about him going up against a bigger, stronger boxer like Frank Martin in a heavyweight division he’s never competed in.
Furthermore, Colbert was about to lose one side in 12 rounds by unanimous decision Hector Luis Garcia (15-0, 10 KOs) on February 26 in Las Vegas. The referees scored Garcia with scores of 119-108, 118-109 and 118-109.
With a defeat to Garcia, Colbert will recklessly move to 135 to face Frank Martin in the next battle. From this writer’s point of view, Colbert is arguably much more talented than Frank Martin, and he would beat him if the two were the same size.
Spence can beat Martin if he mixes it with Colbert or some talented 135-pound athlete. Martin looks NOT good in his win Jackson Marinez last Saturday night.
Given Colbert’s talent, he could become a star if he is relegated to featherweight, where he is supposed to play.
Colbert is too young to fight in the featherweight class [130]and we saw it in his loss to Hector Luis Garcia, who looked like a full-fledged lightweight athlete on the night of their skirmish last February.

If you’re Colbert’s manager, you can’t let him fight someone as underweight as Frank Martin. Like I said, there’s too much of a size difference between the two.
Martin looks like a light weight on the fill, while the slim 5’8″ Colbert has a featherweight frame. You have to commend Colbert for competing at 130 because he needs to be at 126. where he started his career.
Spence is working hard to try to win his boxer Frank Martin. Alongside Colbert, Spence called Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero to try and increase interest in him during his battle with Frank Martin. Like Colbert, Rolly is also on the decline.
If Spence wants to hustle to fight for Frank Martin, he needs to focus on realistic goals from this group of fighters:
