Central government relaxes LTC guidelines for employees

LTC Rules: The central government has extended the granting of one more Leave of Tourism (LTC) home city transition to recruits who are visiting the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) by air. The central government changed the region from just J&K to the Northeast, UT of J&K, UT of Ladakh Andaman & Nicobar. In March 2020, the center granted another batch of LTC conversions in their home city to recruits ending on September 25, 2022. The LTC easing will now take effect from September 26, 2020. 2022 to September 25, 2024. The establishment at the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) under the Ministry of Personnel has issued an Office Memorandum (OM) on this matter.

Promulgating the OM on LTC easing for new central government employees, the Establishment Department at DoPT said, “The undersigned are instructed to refer to this Department’s October 8, 2020 OM relating to regarding leisure for air travel to visit the Northeast, Jammu & Kashmir, and Andaman & Nicobar, and arguably in accordance with the CCS Rules (LTC), 1988, the program allows allows Government officials to travel by air to the Northeastern Region (NER), the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), the Union Territory of Ladakh and the Union Territory of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands ( A&N) is extended for two more years, from September 26, 2022 to September 25, 2024.”

All eligible Government servants can use LTC to visit any place in NER/A&N/J&K/Ladakh against converting one LTC in their Home Town within four-year period. New Employers are also allowed to convert one of the three Home Town LTCs within four years, which applies to those visiting NER/A&N/J&K/Ladakh. In addition, they are allowed one more LTC Home Town conversion to visit UT of J&K/UT of Ladakh within four years.

Government officials with air travel rights can avail of this offer from their Head Office in any airline’s eligible aircraft class subject to the terms and conditions listed. in the latest circular of DoPT or OM.

In September 2018, the central government relaxed the regulations on LTC allowing new recruits to receive one more LTC conversion in their home city, “New hires are allowed to convert one three LTCs in Home Town within 4 years, apply to them In this According to current guidelines, new recruits to the Central Government are allowed to LTC to their hometown with their families three times in a block of four year and to anywhere in India on Wednesday. This facility is open to new recruits to the first two LTC blocks in the four years of application after joining the Government for the first time,” added, In this regard, it has been decided to allow new recruits one more LTC Home Town conversion to travel by air to any place in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir in every block of four year, i.e. a total of 4 times in the first 8 years after qualifying for LTC (twice in each four-year block).”
