Cate Blanchett Wins Golden Globe Record for Best Actress in a Drama Series – The Hollywood Reporter

With the award for Best Actress in a Drama for her role in tarCate Blanchett broke the record on Tuesday night at the 2023 Golden Globes.

She joins Meryl Streep, Ingrid Bergman and Jane Fonda as the most awarded actress in this category with three wins. Blanchett has twice won in this category, once in 1999 for Elizabeth and once for Green jasmine in 2014. She also won the best supporting actress award in the movie category in 2008 for I’m not there.

Bergman, Fonda and Streep have each won three awards, all winning two titles in a row. Streep has the most nominations in this category with 14.

Blanchett did not attend the awards ceremony on Tuesday night, with presenter Henry Golding saying she was not there because she was filming in the UK. She was nominated along with Light Empireby Olivia Colman, Queenby Viola Davis, Yellowby Ana de Armas and Fabelman’s house‘Michelle Williams.

Blanchett plays acclaimed composer Lydia Tár in Todd Field’s drama, which was also nominated for best drama and best screenplay, among other nominations, at the 2023 Golden Globes.
