The Predators tackled him to Habs to protect PK Subban in a blockbuster deal before the free agent in June 2019.
Weber, from Sicamous, BC, played 1,038 regular-season NHL games, scoring 589 points (224 goals, 365 assists).
Dadonov, 33, played 78 games with the Golden Knights between 2021-22, scoring 20 goals and 23 assists.
“First of all, I want to thank Shea for everything he does and represents Canada Canadianiens,” Canada general manager Kent Hughes said in a statement.
“Shea is not only a brilliant hockey player who suffered significant injuries in an attempt to bring the Stanley Cup back to Montreal, he is also a great leader whose leadership will have positive impact on our team after his time with us.”
