Atlanta, Ga. (CBS46) – There’s an incredible boost to Atlanta teenagers who dream of becoming famous music producers and creators. If they can show they are responsible and willing to show their potential, they get A-LIST help, for free!
“When I met him, I knew this boy was special,” said music producer Will Hodge. “Willy Will.”
With the right support, a 13-year-old Atlanta boy is taking control of his future.
“Non-profit organization called Early Advertising Reach. It’s for students ages 13-18,” says Hodge.
“I love making music. I love its creativity. I love being in the studio. It’s fun to see rappers rap to your beat and hear what they can come up with,” says Tamaj Pullen, 13, “MAPA. “
Music is the medium.
“He is a treasure. He’s one of those things, that they don’t show up a lot,” Hodge said.
Music runs in Tamaj Pullen’s blood. His uncle is a famous music producer, respectable CNOTE
“My uncle wrote Signed and delivered,” said CNOTE
Tamaj’s mentors believe the 13-year-old is doing something unique of his own. They also knew he needed support. That’s when Will walked in.
“I spoke at a couple of churches and his mother caught the wind,” Hodge said.
Will has started a project called Reaching Early Ads.
“My mission is to provide underserved youth with the tools they need to reach their full creative potential; just use music as a means to do that,” says Hodge.
The organization was set up to be the music for Will as a child.
“It saved my life. Coming from the inner city, a lot of my friends fell in love with things they shouldn’t have. Between church and music, it saved my life. It keeps me out of bad situations,” says Hodge, “I always keep my feet in the community. I visit churches. I visit schools”.
The kids had to write an essay about why they wanted to be on the show, and Will learned from that.
“All of the things that are important to the technique, the blending, that really help with my creativity, all of that… are free,” says Pullen.
This is a program for creative people, hard workers, young people, people with dreams.
