At least 1 dead, 60 injured as fireworks warehouse explodes in Armenian mall – National
Explosions tore through fireworks stock in a shopping mall in Armenian Russian news agencies reported that the capital Yerevan on Sunday left one person dead and 60 injured.
The video showed thick gray smoke rising over a building, followed by an explosion that sent people fleeing the scene.
People are trying to clear debris and debris from a building badly damaged by clouds of smoke and dust floating in the air. Other witnesses are helping the victim.
The Armenian Ministry of Health said on Telegram that the number of injured people has reached 60, of which 22 have been discharged. The Emergencies Department said one person had died.
Firefighters struggled to contain the blaze as the fireworks continued to explode, further complicating search and rescue operations, TASS quoted the ministry’s rescue agency head as saying.
It is not clear what caused the fireworks to explode.
