Assam CM thanks Arjun Kapoor, Rohit Shetty for donating Rs 5 lakh for flood relief

Taking to Twitter, Himanta Biswa Sarma thanked Arjun Kapoor and Rohit Shetty for their contribution to the CM Relief Fund for those affected by floods in Assam.

Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday thanked Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor and Bollywood director Rohit Shetty for their contribution of Rs 50,000 to the CM Relief Fund for flood-affected people in the state.

Sharing on Twitter, Assam CM said, “Bollywood actor Shri Arjun Kapoor and director Shri Rohit Shetty have sided with those affected by the floods of Assam with a donation of 50,000 VND to the CM Relief Fund. I thank them for their concern and generous actions.”

Meanwhile, barely recovering from the devastation caused by pre-monsoon rain in Assam last month, the flooding situation in the state worsened on Tuesday, following heavy and relentless rainfall since June 13th.

Up to 18 districts were affected by the floods, including the capital, Guwahati.

The state has recorded 42 deaths from floods and landslides this year, including four people buried under a giant mass of dirt in the Boragaon area on Tuesday.

Heavy rains have also flooded roads in some parts of the city hardest hit among these are Anil Nagar, Nabin Nagar, Rajgarh Link Road, Rukminigaon, Hatigaon and Krishna Nagar.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and SDRF staff, deployed in these areas, are using boats to rescue people and deliver relief materials to those still trapped in homes. flooded, the official said.
