Apple Fitness + adds new dance workouts with music from BTS, ABBA, and more – TechCrunch
Apple announced today they’re adding curated new dance workouts and collections to Fitness + in time for International Dance Day on April 29. The service will add additional content to the Artist Spotlight series, dedicated to An entire playlist for an artist, with new workouts featuring music from ABBA, BTS, and Queen. Every Monday for four weeks, the service adds new workouts featuring individual artists.
Types of workouts include strength, HIIT, dance, treadmill, cycling, yoga, and pilates. Some new Fitness + dance workouts will teach users choreography from BTS’s music videos, like “Dynamite” and “Permission to Dance”. Fitness+ will also feature a dance workout section, which includes six 20-minute workouts on Latin tracks, Upbeat Tracks, Back Throw, and a Hip-Hop/R&B playlist.
The service will also announce a new workout collection on April 25, designed to “engage subscribers to dance any day of the year.” Collection feature, which Apple introduced in January, is a curated series of exercises and meditations meant to help users achieve their goals. The new dance collection will include 20 to 30-minute workouts featuring ’80s classics, hip-hop songs, and Latin music from around the world.
Apple launched Fitness+ in December 2020 and has since worked to compete with other subscription fitness services. Fitness + is available as Independent registration for $9.99 per month or as part of Apple One Premier plan for $29.95 per month, giving users access to Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple News+, and iCloud+ with 2 TB of storage.
