Queen Latifah is about to get a chance to walk a mile in Adam Sandler’s shoes.
Latifah visited Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday, where she chatted with host Jimmy Kimmel about Hustle, a Netflix television series produced by LeBron James in which she co-stars with Sandler, who plays a struggling basketball scout. Kimmel seemed to enjoy the stars playing husband and wife roles in the series, as the host asked her, “Have you ever imagined yourself playing Adam Sandler’s other person?”
But Equalizer the star has made it clear that their connection has extended beyond the established range. “I love Adam Sandler — come on,” she said. “How can you not love Adam Sandler?”
She went on to share that Grow up The performer asked his group to crochet Latifah after she complimented a pair of red shoes he was wearing. “I was in awe of his sneakers earlier today,” continued Latifah of Sandler, who is known for her casual streetwear. “He was like, ‘Hey, go to the store, get the Queen some of these pairs.’ And they just showed up in my room.” She added with a laugh, “So he’s a good provider, and I appreciate that.”
Kimmel then wondered if Sandler had any luck with the shoe size. “He asked for my size,” she recalls. “I said, ‘This is happening right now.'”
During the film’s premiere in Los Angeles the day before, Latifah said The Hollywood Reporter that she respects her co-star for dealing with the material outside of his typical comedy house. “I like that he can show different sides of himself and also flex different muscles,” she says.
