A Macdonald’s in Massachusetts knowingly served bacon to Muslim family, council alleges – National

Barbara Dougan, an attorney for CAIR, said the complaint is the first step in the process of finding monetary damages. She also hopes that will push McDonald’s to better train its workers to prevent a similar incident in the future.

“Religious discrimination in a public place is not only illegal but morally reprehensible,” she said in a statement.

An email seeking comment was left with McDonald’s corporate headquarters in Chicago. A message was also left with a person who answered the phone at Gomez Enterprises LLC, the company that operates the McDonald’s restaurant on Meadow Street in Chicopee.

This experience led the children to ask their mothers “do they hate us”.

“McDonald’s has made my children and I feel unwanted and worthless by intentionally stuffing a bacon-filled fish sandwich for no other reason than to punish us for our faith and beliefs. our religious beliefs,” the woman, Ghadir Alahmar, said in a statement. “This really hurts us. My children now wonder if they are welcome in their own country. They asked me, “ Do they hate us? ” How should a mother answer that question? ”
