Roddy Ricch speaks out
“LA! Normally, I try to mind my business and let the world turn around but we have to do better. That’s too much pointless violence. So many opportunities and incentives to grab what other people are working hard for. Roddy wrote on his Instagram story that life is too bad to live taking away from others. “I love my city but we can’t keep hanging out like this. Before you know it, there will be no one left to take or kill. “
The rapper is also known for his song “Die Young” which he recently performed at Something In The Water Festival back in June. While a clip of the deceased rapper was played behind him, Roddy sing the lyrics:
“I have to keep it for me, I don’t want to die young. I’d rather be judged by twelve and carried by six. I’ll sign my bail, just look at my wrist Tell me, why do legends always have to die fast?
Roddy Ricch is not the only one to echo these sentiments. This subculture saw rap “OGs” like Gillie and Wallo from a Million Dollars game talk to young rappers just weeks before a tragic incident occurred.
Hip Hop celebrities such as Dj Envy, Nicki Minaj and Joe Budden have asked the young artist to stop posting their location, get jewelry protection, or stop analyzing their “opps” in videos. the song.
