Four construction workers were crushed after part of the boundary wall of a residential area in Noida collapsed this morning. Twelve workers trapped under the rubble were brought out after the bulldozer was put into operation at Jal Vayu Vihar, a large housing complex in Noida’s Sector 21.

“Rescue and relief measures have been deployed. Fire protection and police personnel, including senior officers, are on the spot,” a police officer was quoted as saying by PTI news agency. after the incident.

Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his condolences. Upon receiving news of the wall collapse, he ordered senior officers to immediately arrive at the site and begin wartime relief work, his office tweeted. The minister has also directed officials to ensure proper treatment of those injured in the incident.

District Judge Suhas LY quickly arrived on the spot after the incident happened. “Rescue operations are underway. Details of the injured are being ascertained. The area is being searched as a precaution. All teams are present.” , he told the media.

The district judge said the Noida development agency had contracted to repair the drainage system near the apartment complex. “We were told that while the workers were pulling bricks, the wall collapsed,” he said. This will be investigated.
