35 in Maths, 36 in English: IAS officer was told ‘he can’t do anything’ after board results. What happened next?

Low marks in Grade 10? Don’t let yourself be dismayed, because a small incident like this doesn’t show that you can’t succeed in life. To convey this powerful message, an IAS officer recently made public his own results which showed how badly he did in his 10th grade entrance exam.

Tushar D Sumera, money collector in Bharuch district, Gujarat, hardly guarantees passing scores in exams. He got 35 points in English and 36 points in Math. But that has never stopped him from what he has achieved. The message came before the state board results to encourage students who were waiting for the same.

A photo of Mr. Sumera, with blurred school records, was shared on Twitter by Awanish Sharan, an IAS officer for the 2009 batch of Chhattisgarh staff.
